Benjamin Šeško is yet to take part in any of Manchester United's pre-season fixtures, having also missed the last three ties of the 2025/26 campaign.
Šeško joined the Reds in August 2025 from RB Leipzig as part of a new-look front three, with the club spending around £200 million on Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and the Slovenian.
The 23-year-old went on to net 12 goals for United last campaign, 11 coming in the Premier League, with the player really exploding into life once Michael Carrick took charge at the turn of the year.
However, after suffering a shin injury that was aggravated by a foul from Ibrahim Konate in a 3-2 win over Liverpool in May, he has been on an individual training programme.
Šeško handed new return date
Last month, reports suggested that the Slovenian would be returning to training soon and that there was a possibility he would play against Paris Saint-Germain in United's fourth pre-season fixture of the summer.
However, it was announced on Friday afternoon that although Šeško had stepped up the intensity of his training, he did not travel with the rest of the squad to Sweden.
According to the Manchester Evening News, despite the set-back, Šeško is still due to be part of United's squad for their training camp in Ireland next week.
While he may not feature against Leeds United on 12 August, there is hope he will be able to play some minutes against Rúben Amorim's AC Milan on 15 August.

Šeško has an ideal situation next season
Last campaign was very much a bedding-in campaign for the young striker. It took him a while to understand the physicality of the Premier League, and once he got firing, he looked fantastic.
While there have been many comparisons made between Šeško and the previous failings of young striker Rasmus Højlund in the two seasons prior to the former's transfer, what the Slovenian international now has is back-up options and competition.
Mbeumo has been fantastic at points as a striker under Carrick, while Cunha has always demonstrated competency in the position, too. If Šeško has a poor run of form or takes a few games to find his feet, the other two can cover his position.
At the same time, Marcus Rashford's scheduled return adds another dynamic, goalscoring option across the front line. Having netted for Barcelona 14 times during their title-winning campaign last season, the winger's return could be a huge boost for the Reds.
