Lewis Hall has withdrawn from Newcastle United’s training camp in Spain due to a ‘minor injury’ problem.
The news comes courtesy of The Athletic, with Magpies correspondent Chris Waugh reiterating that the full-back is attracting concrete interest from Manchester United this summer.

However, Newcastle are maintaining that Hall is not for sale under any circumstances.
From United’s perspective, they would perhaps argue that the Tyneside outfit also said the same about Alexander Isak before his Liverpool switch last summer and, this year, Bruno Guimaraes, who is on the verge of joining Arsenal.
When Guimaraes does eventually depart, he joins Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali as Newcastle’s big-name outgoings since the window opened, so you can understand the board ruling out any more major sales.
United still sizing up Hall swoop
Signing for United would allow Hall to play in the Champions League next term while becoming an integral part of Michael Carrick’s project in M16.
The 21-year-old would rotate with Luke Shaw, 31, whose contract expires next June, before eventually succeeding the long-serving Red to become the first-choice left-back.
Reports have suggested United would be willing to shell out around £60 million to prise Hall from St. James’ Park – two years after Newcastle paid an upfront fee of £28m to bring him in from Chelsea.
Aside from the England youngster, INEOS are still actively scouring the market for a suitable third midfielder following the arrivals of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
One target, Carloa Baleba, has likely been removed from the shortlist after he sustained an ankle ligament injury, rendering him a doubt for the beginning of 2026/2027.
It remains to be seen where they will turn their attention next, with just two weeks remaining until their season-opener away to Hull City.
