Crystal Palace make offer for Monaco midfielder wanted by Manchester United

Manchester United’s midfield search is continuing, even as the summer transfer window begins to approach its deadline.

The Red Devils, who are facing PSG today at 4pm, have spent the summer focusing on rebuilding in the middle of the park after the departure of Casemiro, who joined Inter Miami.

United have signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, as well as Cristian Orozco, in midfield positions so far this summer.

The club are not done yet, however, with reports still suggesting that a third midfielder is wanted before the transfer window slams shut at the start of next month.

Manchester United have been linked with a number of names, including AS Roma’s Manu Kone, Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni, and Barcelona’s Marc Casado.

A new name has now emerged from under the fold, though, with Foot Mercato stating that both Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara.

The outlet have also stated that Crystal Palace have made the first move, submitting a concrete offer to Monaco for the Senegal international.

It remains to be seen if Manchester United will follow up on their interest and submit a bid for the midfielder in the coming weeks, though.

Camara, 22, made 24 appearances for Ligue 1 last season for Monaco, scoring three goals whilst providing four assists.

The former Metz player also played in the Champions League and Coupe de France last season as Monaco chased success in all competitions.

His contract with the Ligue 1 club runs out in 2029, and Monaco want a fee of €50 million for the midfielder according to Foot Mercato if they are to sell him this summer.

For Manchester United, Lamine Camara represents another option in the long list of those that the club could choose to pursue during the remaining time of the window.
