Benjamin Sesko has been absent from Manchester United’s pre-season calendar as he nurses a shin injury that he sustained at the end of last season.
Sesko, who joined United during last summer’s transfer window, made 30 appearances in the Premier League during the 2025/26 campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing one assist.
He was forced to watch the final three matches of the season, against Sunderland, Nottingham Forest, and Brighton and Hove Albion, from the touchlines, however, due to the injury that he sustained.
Throughout the summer, the forward has been attempting to recover from the injury with some reports even suggesting that he could have been fit for today’s game against Paris Saint Germain.
That is not the case, however, with him not named in Michael Carrick’s travelling squad for the match taking place at 4pm.
Now, Manchester Evening News have provided an update on the forward whilst subsequently revealing when he should return from his injury.
Reporting on the MEN website, journalist Tyrone Marshall has stated that Benjamin Sesko is expected to be part of Michael Carrick’s training squad in Ireland next week.
The journalist has also revealed that there is some hope that he will be able to face his old boss, Ruben Amorim, when Manchester United play AC Milan on August 15th.
With hope now increasing that the forward will return in the coming weeks, supporters may see Sesko back in action for the start of the Premier League season.
Manchester United kick-off the season against Hull City on Saturday August 22nd before returning to Old Trafford on Sunday August 30th to face Ipswich Town.
Sesko has faced neither side in his time at Manchester United so far across all competitions and will look to carry his good goalscoring form into the coming season against both.
