Man Utd XI vs PSG: Starting lineup and confirmed team news

Youri Tielemans has been named on the bench for Manchester United vs PSG as the £35m summer signing waits to make his first appearance for the club.

Bruno Fernandes is also among the substitutes, while Noussair Mazraoui returns to the starting XI for Michael Carrick’s side in Gothenburg.

Manchester United XI: Heaton; Mazraoui, Maguire, Heaven, Shaw; Santos, Mount; Amad, Lacey, Dorgu; Mbeumo.

Substitutes: Heath, Mee, Amass, Armer, Dalot, Yoro, Fernandes, J Fletcher, T Fletcher, Tielemans, Zirkzee.

The Standard confirms Tielemans is available for the first time since joining United, having been given additional time off following Belgium’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals.

The midfielder completed his move from Aston Villa earlier this summer. ReadManUtd reported when United confirmed the £35m signing, with Tielemans signing a contract running until 2031.

Carrick has instead selected Andrey Santos alongside Mason Mount in midfield against PSG.

Fernandes is also back in the squad following Portugal’s World Cup campaign but starts on the bench. Mazraoui is the only one of the returning senior trio of Fernandes, Diogo Dalot and the Moroccan to start.

Shea Lacey receives another opportunity further forward, operating alongside Amad and Patrick Dorgu behind Bryan Mbeumo.

Mbeumo keeps his place after scoring twice in United’s 2-1 pre-season win over Atletico Madrid.

United remain without several first-team players. Benjamin Sesko, Matthijs de Ligt, Karl Darlow and Manuel Ugarte are injured, while Matheus Cunha and Senne Lammens are recovering from illness.

Kobbie Mainoo, Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez are also unavailable following their World Cup commitments.

The game represents United’s toughest test of pre-season so far, while attention will also be on whether Tielemans is handed his first minutes in a United shirt from the bench.
