Czech goalkeeper Radek Vítek joins Middlesbrough from Manchester United

Czech goalkeeper Radek Vítek has joined English second-tier club Middlesbrough from Manchester United after six years at the club. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Bristol City, where he was named the club’s player of the season by both fans and teammates.

Vítek joined Manchester United from Sigma Olomouc as a 16-year-old in 2020 but never made a competitive appearance for the first team. He also spent time on loan at Accrington Stanley and Austrian club LASK.

British media report that Middlesbrough will pay £7 million for Vítek, with the fee potentially rising to £14 million. Manchester United have also retained a buy-back option and a 35-percent sell-on clause.
