Manchester United faced back-to-back Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain in their fourth pre-season match.
Michael Carrick's side had already faced Wrexham, Rosenborg, and Atletico Madrid, but PSG was sure to be the toughest so far. However, Luis Enrique was without several first-team players, including Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doure, who remain on their post-World Cup breaks.
Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes and Noussair Mazraoui returned to the matchday squad, with the latter handed a starting place at right-back. Youri Tielemans was also involved for the first time, but Matheus Cunha, Senne Lammens and Benjamin Šeško remained in Manchester due to separate issues.
PSG took an early lead through Ibrahim Mbaye – a quick counterattack saw Mason Mount drop into central defence instead of Harry Maguire before Dro Fernandez played a perfectly weighted cross behind Ayden Heaven into Mbaye's path. Tom Heaton could do nothing about it, but did make two great saves just one minute later to keep the disadvantage at one.
Manchester United responded just after half an hour when Amad won possession from PSG's left-back. He drove inside before deciding the pass to Mbeumo was the best decision, and the No.19 proved him right with an excellent finish across goal.
Michael Carrick's side grew into the game after a difficult start, but that has been the pattern in every pre-season match so far. A little concerning if you ask me.

Made some great saves early on before United grew into the game. Little to do after that.
Noussair Mazraoui – 6/10
Not a bad return to action, but it still feels like Dalot's spot to lose.
Harry Maguire – 5.5/10
Caught out of position for the goal, but solid apart from that.
Ayden Heaven – 5.5/10
Picked up an early yellow card for lunging into a tackle after he gave the ball away and could have done slightly better for the goal. Good progressive runs and passing, though.
Luke Shaw – 6.5/10
Not his best or worst performance of pre-season. Some good crosses into the box.

Andrey Santos – 7/10
Made a great recovery block to deny Ibrahim Mbaye a second after Heaven's error. Looks very tidy.
Mason Mount – 6/10
Forced off before the 20-minute mark, with Tyler Fletcher taking his place. Mount appeared to signal that he had an issue with his left foot when talking to Michael Carrick.
Amad – 7.5/10
Did very well to win the ball and find the Mbeumo for the Cameroon international's goal. Started several counterattacks with quick dribbling or a great pass.
Shea Lacey – 7/10
Patrick Dorgu – 6.5/10
Regularly finds himself in good positions, but the final ball isn't always there. Needs more help from his teammates, though.
Bryan Mbeumo – 6.5/10
Took his goal very well, but too many poor touches and decisions. Needs to improve, as he will likely start the first Premier League game against Hull City. Got a great free-kick on him, who knew?
Tyler Fletcher – 6/10
Great turn to start a counterattack in the 27th minute.
