Manchester United fans wasted no time by instantly turning to Andrey Santos after what they saw from him during the Paris Saint-Germain match on Saturday.
Michael Carrick’s men returned to action for their fourth pre-season match of their 2026 summer tour after back-to-back wins against Rosenborg and Atletico Madrid.
Manchester United faced PSG at the Nya Ullevi in Gothenburg and the Red Devils were placed on the back foot inside the first two minutes in Sweden.
Luis Enrique’s side took the lead after Ibrahim Mbaye buried his chance from close range, as Ayden Heaven was unable to prevent Dro Fernandez’s low cross.

Andrey Santos’ key tackle against PSG kept Man Utd in the pre-season match after Ibrahim Mbaye’s first-half opener
Andrey Santos stepped up in a major way in the first 20 minutes after he denied PSG from going 2-0 up against Manchester United at the Nya Ullevi in Sweden.
The United summer signing showed his important defensive contribution after Ayden Heaven had vacated his space following a reckless tackle on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Andrey Santos pulled off a superbly timed tackle to send Senny Mayulu’s shot from outside of the box over the top of Tom Heaton’s Man Utd net and out of play.
The 22-year-old Brazil international’s interception — alongside the rest of his defensive input in the first half — earned him huge praise from United fans on X.

Santos, who has featured in the opening three matches of the pre-season tour, saw out the opening 45 minutes of Saturday’s pre-season fixture against PSG.
