In classic OG Anunoby fashion, the New York Knicks forward had a hilarious response when asked how he currently feels about his iconic tip-in from Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals.
The Knicks’ spring journey to end the franchise’s 53-year title drought will go down as one of the best because it had so many memorable moments. After losing back-to-back games to the Atlanta Hawks in the quarterfinals, they smashed their way to the finals, including a 61-point lead at one point during their Game 6 win against ATL.
But it wasn’t always easy. They needed to come back from a 20-point deficit in the second half to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. They were also down by close to 30 in Game 4 of the Finals against the San Antonio Spurs and completed the greatest comeback win in NBA history.
Yet, the moment diehard Knicks fans and casuals remember most is Anunoby’s tip-in off a Jalen Brunson miss with just seconds left to finish off their epic Game 4 comeback. It made the nine-year veteran a household name and essentially changed his life. The moment even won him an ESPY award.
But what has endeared Anunoby to Knicks fans — beyond his play — is that he isn’t a live-wire personality. He is calm, quiet, humble, and rarely shows emotion. That is why his response when asked by Sky Sports if he gets the same joy when he watches replays of the tip-in surprise. But it is still pretty funny.
