Former Manchester United and Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim has not experienced his honeymoon period at AC Milan amid his pre-season woes so far.
Ruben Amorim has overseen three matches for AC Milan since he replaced Massimiliano Allegri in June and has picked up two draws and one defeat so far.
The 41-year-old former Manchester United manager’s latest outing in the dugout resulted in a comfortable 3-0 win for Chelsea against Milan in Indonesia.

Ruben Amorim had a much better start to pre-season with Man Utd than his run with AC Milan
Ruben Amorim’s pre-season with Manchester United did not start until the summer of 2025 after he replaced Erik ten Hag during the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.
The former Sporting CP boss, who was axed from Old Trafford back in January, picked up two wins and one draw from his first three matches of United’s 2025 tour.
Amorim chalked up wins against the likes of Leeds United, West Ham and Bournemouth after he experienced his first — and only — pre-season at Man Utd.

Manchester United 0-0 Leeds United (July 2025)
Manchester United 2-1 West Ham United (July 2025)
Manchester United 4-1 Bournemouth (July 2025)
Outside of the three-match comparison with his current AC Milan record, Amorim’s pre-season stats at the Red Devils ended without a single defeat in the 2025 tour.
United would draw against Everton at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium before the Red Devils’ penalty win over Fiorentina at Old Trafford ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Ruben Amorim’s first three pre-season matches at Sporting CP outperformed his Man Utd and AC Milan spells
Just like his time at United, Amorim arrived at Sporting during the 2019-20 Primeira Liga season before he took the Portuguese club out on the pre-season tour in the 2020 summer.
The Milan manager made his name at Sporting CP after his success with the club — and Amorim engineered three wins from three in his first pre-season period.

Portimonense 1-2 Sporting CP (August 2020)
Sporting CP 3-1 Belenenses SAD (August 2020)
Sporting CP 2-1 Real Valladolid (September 2020)
The wins over Portimonense, Belenenses and Real Valladolid were the only matches played in that pre-season under Amorim after the clash with Napoli was cancelled.
