Manchester United drew 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain in the club's fourth pre-season friendly of the summer.
The Parisians took the lead early on through a goal from Ibrahim Mbaye, but Bryan Mbeumo levelled the score with a very well-taken goal, assisted by Amad.
United failed to find a winner, but delivered a very decent performance against the reigning European champions. United managed 14 shots compared to PSG's 7, and also had over three times more touches in the opposition penalty box.
Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot played their first minutes of pre-season after returning from the World Cup, and Youri Tielemans also made his United debut. The Belgian midfielder looked promising in his 25-minute cameo.
Carrick pleased with performance
Michael Carrick was quite positive following United's draw vs PSG.
"The boys adapted really well; lots of positives to take from the game. I enjoyed it," Carrick said.
Carrick also felt playing PSG was a suitable test for his side.
"It's good, sometimes, for the boys to have to problem solve and figure it out.
"In that respect there are things that people maybe don't see, that we're happy with."

United need to back Carrick
No team earned more points in the Premier League than Manchester United after Carrick's arrival, and United's performances in pre-season have been largely promising.
United have signed two excellent midfielders in Tielemans and Andrey Santos. Tielemans, for £35 million, has been arguably the signing of the summer. He is the kind of player who is really going to help elevate United's performances. Santos was also an astute signing, and he has also been one of United's best performers so far in pre-season. That being said, United need a lot more.
There have been some noises that Mason Mount's performances in pre-season have led United to think twice about signing a third midfielder. Mount is an outstanding player, and when he is fit, he can be of immense value to any team. However, he is rarely fit. His three-year spell so far in Manchester has been plagued by injuries, and he simply cannot be relied upon.
It is of the utmost importance that United sign a third midfielder in the coming weeks, preferably one who can cover large distances and really stabilise United out of possession.
A new left-back is also needed. Luke Shaw started every Premier League game last season, but has a long history of injuries. Patrick Dorgu can play there, but Carrick seemingly prefers him in a more advanced position.
United want Lewis Hall, but Newcastle United will not let him go, having already let three key players go. While a deal for Hall was never going to be easy, it would've been a lot easier earlier in the window before Newcastle had sold anyone. United waited too long and were not proactive enough.
A new striker, or at least some sort of attacker, will also be needed if Joshua Zirkzee leaves.
United are only two weeks away from the start of the Premier League season. It is simply unacceptable that the club have only signed two players at this stage. United have said they want to win the Premier League by 2028. It is time for the club to put their money where their mouth is and provide Carrick with a squad capable of challenging on all fronts.
