The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly exploring multiple trade avenues that will involve Dennis Schroder.
According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, the Cavs are looking to part ways with the German guard to create enough financial space in their ongoing push for Jonathan Kuminga and Peyton Watson.
“The Cavs continue to discuss various trade packages involving Schroder, seeing if there is an opportunity to slightly reconfigure the roster or gain financial flexibility, which would help their pursuit of free agents Jonathan Kuminga and Peyton Watson,” the report indicated.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are a well-known team in the hunt for Jonathan Kuminga and Peyton Watson, as both young, talented forwards remain available on the market.
Kuminga is an unrestricted free agent after the Atlanta Hawks declined their $24.3 million team option in his contract for the 2026-27 season, while Peyton Watson is a restricted free agent whose rights currently belong to the Denver Nuggets.
Dennis Schroder spent the 2025-26 season with both the Sacramento Kings and Cleveland Cavaliers. He started the year in Sacramento before being traded to Cleveland ahead of February's trade deadline.
Across 70 regular-season games between the two teams, Schroder averaged 10.8 points, 4.9 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game. The veteran signed a three-year, $44.4 million contract with Sacramento in last year's offseason, with 2027-28 being partially guaranteed.
After being linked as the Cavs' potential sacrificial lamb to sign LeBron James, it appears that Schroder remains on the watch list that could be dealt by the team sooner. He established a journeyman career, playing for 11 different NBA teams throughout his 13-year career.
The Charlotte Hornets previously emerged as an interested team in Schroder.
