Austin Reaves sends strong Luka Doncic message ahead of Lakers Slovenia camp

Austin Reaves is looking forward to attending the Los Angeles Lakers' upcoming minicamp in Slovenia, where he is specifically aiming to beat the most out of Luka Doncic in golf.

But more than that, he is certainly steadfast in meeting the team's new faces and building important camaraderie to start early for the 2026-27 NBA season.

"I feel great, I'm going to kick his a** in golf," Reaves jokingly said in a media availability for his ongoing 2026 Rigorer Basketball Camp, via 852 Sports Entertainment.

"That'll be a lot of fun, but it'll just be good to get around everybody. We've got a fairly new team, a lot of new guys. So it'll just be good to be around them, learn to get to know one another off the court. Just build that chemistry there."

Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves to headline Lakers Slovenia minicamp

Behind Luka Doncic's efforts and initiatives, the new-look Los Angeles Lakers roster is all set to fly to Slovenia for a four-day minicamp.

The special team event is scheduled to begin Aug. 20 and conclude on Aug. 24.

The trip is expected to include basketball workouts, golf activities, sightseeing around Ljubljana, and other team-building events. As such, as two golf enthusiasts of the team, Doncic and Austin Reaves' upcoming golf matchup can only be anticipated by most Lakers fans.

Unfortunately, one Lakers player will be missing the trip, as rookie Cameron Carr is required to attend the official NBA rookie orientation this month.

With the additions of Walker Kessler, Quentin Grimes, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Collin Sexton, Kevon Looney, Ziaire Williams, Matisse Thybulle, and Jaden Hardy, both Doncic and Reaves are set to lead a new Lakers generation in the post-LeBron James era.
