Yuki Kawamura signs training camp deal with Clippers
Yuki Kawamura is set to join the LA Clippers after a solid 2026 NBA Summer League opportunity with the Indiana Pacers. Appearing in all five tournament games for Indiana, he registered 8.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 17.5 minutes played.
Kawamura spent the past 2025-26 NBA season with the Chicago Bulls. He overcame an early-season blood clot in his lower leg and logged 18 games, averaging 3.4 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 11.6 minutes.
He dropped huge numbers in the NBA G League while playing for the Windy City Bulls. Across 11 games on his two-way contract, the fan-favorite averaged a double-double with 18.7 points, 11.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds.
After going undrafted in 2023, a sensational 2024 Paris Olympics run for Japan allowed Kawamura to earn his first NBA shot with the Memphis Grizzlies back in 2024-25.
Kawamura is set to reunite with Rui Hachimura, as the Japanese forward notably left the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason upon signing a two-year, $28 million contract with the Clippers.
LA currently has 14 players on standard, guaranteed NBA contracts heading into the 2026-27 season.
