Villa are keeping tabs on Real Madrid forward Endrick with Unai Emery eager to bolster his attacking options.
The 20-year-old Brazilian could be made available for loan before the end of the transfer window and Villa are among the clubs who have made their interest known.
Endrick has struggled for game-time since joining Real from Palmeiras two years ago but enjoyed an impressive spell on loan at Lyon during the second half of last season.
Emery has been keen to refresh Villa’s attack this summer following the departure of Morgan Rogers but club record signing Johan Manzambi is at risk of missing the start of the Premier League season with a knee injury.
Leon Bailey is close to completing a move to Hull, while Villa are also prepared to listen to offers for Evann Guessand and Tammy Abraham.
Another striker will be sought should Abraham depart, while Villa could also add another winger after signing Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea on loan.
A deal with Atletico Madrid for left-back Matteo Ruggeri is close to being agreed. The Italian will replace Lucas Digne, who has joined Paris Saint-Germain.
Emery’s team are back in action on Wednesday when they face PSG in the European Super Cup.
Villa’s squad, bolstered by the return of Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa and Emi Martinez following the World Cup, will fly out to Salzburg on Tuesday afternoon.
