The Los Angeles Lakers have been repeatedly mentioned as a possible landing spot for Jonathan Kuminga this offseason, and a new hypothetical trade framework has now emerged involving three teams.
Rohan Roman of Sports Illustrated outlined a potential deal between the Lakers, Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trail Blazers that would send Kuminga to Los Angeles.
Under the hypothetical framework, the Lakers would acquire Kuminga and Mo Gueye, while sending out Dalton Knecht, Jarred Vanderbilt and a future first-round pick swap.

Kuminga contract could complicate Lakers scenario

As part of the proposal, Kuminga would sign a four-year, $64 million contract that includes a player option in the final season.
That element could make such a move difficult to complete.
Kuminga has reportedly preferred a contract structure that would allow him to return to free agency sooner rather than commit to a longer deal at a lower annual salary.
For the Lakers, the appeal would be adding another young forward alongside Luka Doncic. Kuminga, 23, would bring athleticism, size and additional upside to a roster that has undergone major changes this summer.
Atlanta's return would be centered around Shaedon Sharpe and Dalton Knecht, while also adding two second-round picks.
Portland, meanwhile, would receive Buddy Hield, Jarred Vanderbilt and two future first-round pick swaps.
While the proposed deal includes several complications, most notably Kuminga's contract demands, it presents another possible route for Los Angeles to land a player it has been connected to throughout the offseason.
