The Golden State Warriors have had a very disappointing offseason, making zero notable moves outside of bringing back Draymond Green and Kristaps Porzingis in free agency. The Warriors are poised to run back the exact same roster that won 37 games a year ago, headlined by Stephen Curry, who will turn 39 years old this year.

Recently, former NBA point guard Jeff Teague took to the Club 520 podcast and dropped a wild comparison between Curry and fellow NBA Top 75-er Damian Lillard.

“He was never better than Steph… If you said we going to take off [Curry] and put like, Dame Lillard. Then I would be like… I could see they get the same results,” said Teague, per ClutchPoints on X, formerly Twitter.

While comparisons have been drawn over the years between Curry and Lillard, considering their propensity to pull up from anywhere inside of half-court with astonishing accuracy, the similarities mostly end there, as Curry's superior ability to move off the ball, ball-handling, passing, and shooting accuracy have all sent him on a different career trajectory than Lillard during his heyday with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Warriors and Blazers faced off in the playoffs multiple times, with Golden State most recently sweeping Portland out of the 2019 Western Conference Finals despite playing without Kevin Durant in that series.

While Lillard certainly has nothing to be ashamed about in his Hall of Fame career, it's unlikely that Teague will get a lot of agreement in his statement from the rest of the basketball world.

In any case, Lillard and Curry are set to face off once again this upcoming season now that both players are seemingly healthy. The NBA schedule will be announced later this week.
