D'Angelo Russell would like to see Stephen Curry finish the next chapter of his career away from the Golden State Warriors, naming the Boston Celtics as his preferred destination for the four-time NBA champion.
Speaking on his The Backyard Podcast, Russell openly backed the idea of Curry moving to Boston.
"I would love to see Steph Curry go to Boston," Russell said.
Russell explained that his reasoning has less to do with Curry's fit in Boston and more with the amount of help currently surrounding him in Golden State.
"I just think he needs that type of help around him now," Russell said. "Like who's taking the load off him in Golden State? The rookie? Is Jimmy... oh yeah, healthy Jimmy. I mean, is Jimmy going to be healthy though?"
Russell noted that the Warriors still have an experienced group capable of executing late in games, but questioned whether they have enough around Curry to consistently put themselves in those situations.
"I think you have a veteran team that's going to know how to win the last three minutes of a game. They're going to know how to win. Just getting to the last three minutes is where they're going to struggle," he added.

The former Warriors guard then doubled down on his preferred destination, imagining Curry alongside Jayson Tatum and Paul George in Boston.
"I just think I would love to see him in green somewhere and him and Tatum and Paul George taking on the league," Russell said. "That'd be sick."
Russell also pointed out that Curry has rarely been seen playing outside Golden State's established system, apart from his appearances with Team USA.
He suggested that watching the legendary guard adapt to a different style of basketball in Boston would make the move even more intriguing.
"So to see him in Boston... I would love to see that change," Russell concluded.
