Several rosters and players in Boston have had historic moments over the past few years and decades, and that trend might continue in this upcoming season.
With Jayson Tatum back healthy, he and his teammates will have the chance to chase down a few reachable franchise records.

Let's take a look at a few records you might see broken in Boston this season.

The three-point shot has become more significant over the last 10 years, and combined with faster-paced games, we have seen higher-scoring games and more scoring chances for players.
Pierce played in a different era of the NBA, mainly in the 2000s and early 2010s when the three-point shot was relevant, but not nearly as much as it is today.
That plays a role in why Tatum will pass Pierce in this stat category soon, whether it's this season or next season, but either way, it's still an impressive feat. Tatum had the 8th most 3PM by a player through their first 9 seasons.
Tatum needs 231 3PM this season to pass Pierce, which he can do if he averages 3.3 3PM in 70 games.

PPG Franchise Record
This one isn't as likely to happen as the first record, but Tatum will be chasing his previous PPG record, set in the 2022-23 season, of 30.1 PPG.
With Tatum now as the main superstar in Boston, there's a chance this can happen, but we'll first have to see how he plays in the first few months, after missing nearly the entire last season due to an injury.
With his usage rate likely increasing, he'll have a great shot at breaking it if he's up for the task.
Tatum averaged 21.1 FGA in the 2022-23 season, and that will likely be the same or higher this upcoming season, so the shot volume and opportunities are there to make a run at beating the record, which, if he does, would mean he produced an MVP-level season.

Single Season 3PM Franchise Record
In the 2024-25 season, Derrick White, Payton Pritchard and Jayson Tatum all had over 250 3PM.
White was the one who just came out on top with the franchise record, but that could be broken this season.
Either of those three could do it, but I'd give Pritchard and Tatum the edge.
They'd need 266 3PM to break White's record, which translates to about 3.8 3PM in 70 games.
