Endrick’s future at Real Madrid has become one of the more interesting questions of the summer, and the latest development has come from an unexpected source.
AS Roma defender Wesley Franca has publicly admitted that he would like to see the Brazilian striker join him in the Italian capital.
Roma are understood to have shown an interest in Endrick in the wake of recent developments at Real Madrid.
For now, however, the youngster remains focused on proving that he can become an important player at the Santiago Bernabeu.
That ambition has been helped by a strong start to pre-season, in which Endrick has made a positive impression on Jose Mourinho’s coaching staff.

The possibility of Endrick moving to Serie A was put directly to Wesley during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Defensa Central).
The Roma full-back did not hide his enthusiasm about the idea of being reunited with a fellow Brazilian at club level. However, he was also careful to stress that the final decision belongs to Endrick.
“I’d really like him to come, but he knows what’s best for his future. More Brazilians?
“There are plenty around the world who could be a good fit for us, but it’s up to the sporting director to decide,” he added.
Endrick’s impressive pre-season has strengthened his case, but his route into Mourinho’s starting XI is far from straightforward.

The biggest obstacle remains Kylian Mbappe, who is established as Real Madrid’s leading attacking figure, meaning opportunities for other forwards will naturally be limited.
There is also another factor that could make Endrick’s situation more complicated.
Real Madrid’s decision to sign Carlos Espi has added further competition within the forward group, making the fight for minutes even more intense, although that does not necessarily mean Endrick is heading for the exit.
In fact, his current position appears to be the opposite. Despite interest from several clubs, the Brazilian intends to remain at Valdebebas and compete for his place.

Few chapters of Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid career remain as divisive as his relationship with Iker Casillas.
More than a decade after Mourinho left the Santiago Bernabeu, the fallout between the Portuguese coach and the club legend is back in the spotlight.
Netflix’s new three-part Mourinho documentary, which premiered on August 11, has reopened one of the most uncomfortable periods of Mourinho’s first spell in charge of Real Madrid.
Casillas and Mourinho offer very different versions of what happened inside the Madrid dressing room.
Their relationship became increasingly strained as Mourinho questioned the influence of senior players, while Casillas found himself caught between his responsibilities as Real Madrid captain and Spain captain.
The result was a dressing room split that became impossible to hide.
It must be remembered that the tension was not limited to team selection, as Mourinho’s management style created problems with training, match preparation, and, most notably, clashes with Barcelona.
Casillas was in a particularly difficult position. He shared the Spain dressing room with several Barcelona players who were his rivals at club level, at a time when the El Clasico rivalry had become extremely heated.
Looking back at that period in the Netflix documentary, Casillas explained the difficulty of being caught between the two sides.

“That situation was complicated because you were captain of Real Madrid and captain of the Spanish national team.
“You were up against teammates who were your enemies on the football pitch, but who were then your teammates for the national team. I didn’t like seeing that and I told the manager so,” he explained.
Mourinho remembers those events very differently.
The Portuguese coach believed that the intensity surrounding Real Madrid and Barcelona demanded a completely different approach from the players.
He wanted the rivalry to remain at full strength when the two clubs met, even if the same players were expected to reunite with Spain afterwards.
Mourinho recalled telling his players, “I told them: ‘This is Barcelona v Real Madrid. When you’re with the national team, you can kiss each other, but not now.
“This is war. There are things I don’t accept and will never accept. And when someone doesn’t respect me, it becomes a problem.’”
The relationship deteriorated further as Casillas became involved in discussions over training schedules and match preparations.
Mourinho recalled three early conversations with the goalkeeper, each of which left him with a different impression of the players he was managing.

“The first time I spoke to Casillas, he asked me for more days off for those returning from international duty.
“The second time, he asked me to bring training back by an hour because, at the time I wanted to train, there was a lot of traffic in Madrid.
“And the third time we spoke, he told me: ‘We don’t want to go to the hotel. We’d rather meet up on match day and go straight to the stadium to play’. It didn’t take me long to realise that the players were being spoilt.”
The biggest flashpoint eventually came when Diego Lopez replaced Casillas in goal.
For a player who had become one of the most important figures in Real Madrid history, being dropped was always going to create a major talking point.
Sami Khedira, who was one of Mourinho’s trusted players during his time in Madrid and now works on his coaching staff, provides an even darker description of what happened behind the scenes.
“Iker was a Real Madrid legend, loved by the fans… Mou benched him and wouldn’t speak to him; he spoke ill of him in the media.
“The dressing room became a living hell. After that, the relationship between Jose and many players – such as Cristiano and the Spanish players – broke down.
“And those players were very important to the atmosphere in the dressing room, which became toxic,” he stated.
