Bradley Beal could still find his way back to the Los Angeles Clippers despite receiving interest from the Miami Heat.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Clippers have not closed the door on bringing back the veteran guard in free agency.
"A return to the Clippers, league sources say, has not been ruled out for Bradley Beal, who has also drawn interest from Miami," Stein reported.
Beal opted out of Clippers deal
Beal became an unrestricted free agent after declining his $5.6 million player option for the 2026-27 season.
The 33-year-old initially joined the Clippers on a two-year, $11 million contract in the summer of 2025 after agreeing to a buyout with the Phoenix Suns. The second year of that deal included the player option that Beal ultimately turned down.
His first season in Los Angeles was cut extremely short by injury. Beal appeared in only six games before undergoing season-ending surgery to repair a fracture in his left hip.
Despite his decision to opt out, a reunion with the Clippers remains on the table.
Heat among teams pursuing Beal
Miami has also emerged as a potential top destination for the three-time All-Star, giving Beal at least one notable alternative as he weighs his next move.
Beal remains one of the most recognizable names still available on the market.
"Beal certainly ranks as one of the league's top available unrestricted free agents alongside fellow former All-Stars Westbrook, DeMar DeRozan, Kevin Love, apparently Ben Simmons if he is indeed serious about a comeback after one full season out of the game and technically James Harden," Stein added.
Beal spent the majority of his career with the Washington Wizards before playing for the Suns and eventually joining the Clippers.
The veteran guard has career averages of 21.5 points, 4.3 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game and earned three All-Star selections during his time in Washington.
