The Golden State Warriors continue to explore the remaining free-agent market as they look to fill out their roster ahead of the 2026-27 season.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, former Dallas Mavericks guard Brandon Williams and veteran stretch forward Georges Niang have emerged as two legitimate targets for Golden State.
"Free agents who I'm told are drawing legitimate interest from Golden State for the Warriors' open roster spots: Georges Niang and Brandon Williams," Stein reported.
Williams coming off career year with Mavericks
Williams could provide Golden State with another ball-handler after producing the best season of his NBA career in Dallas.
The 26-year-old guard averaged 13.0 points, 3.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 22.2 minutes over 66 appearances during the 2025-26 season. He shot 47.2% from the field and also recorded 0.9 steals per game.
Williams had spent the previous three seasons with Dallas after beginning his NBA career with the Portland Trail Blazers. His role increased significantly last season after averaging only 8.3 points and 2.3 assists in 2024-25.
Warriors also eye veteran shooter Niang
Niang would offer a much different skill set as an experienced floor-spacing forward.
The 33-year-old has established himself as one of the league's reliable stretch forwards, shooting 39.9% from three-point range across 544 career NBA games. He owns career averages of 7.4 points and 2.5 rebounds.
Niang averaged 9.9 points and 3.4 rebounds across 79 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks in 2024-25 before a busy stretch of transactions. He returned to the Utah Jazz ahead of the 2025-26 campaign and was later included in the February blockbuster that sent Jaren Jackson Jr. from Memphis to Utah.
Memphis subsequently waived Niang, putting the veteran back on the market.
Over his NBA career, Niang has also represented the Indiana Pacers, Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers, Cavaliers and Hawks.

Williams and Niang are not the only players on Golden State's radar.
During his Bleacher Report livestream on Tuesday, NBA insider Jake Fischer also identified Dalen Terry as a potential Warriors target.
The former No. 18 overall pick spent part of last season with the Philadelphia 76ers after beginning his career with the Chicago Bulls. Philadelphia waived Terry this offseason after he appeared in 14 regular-season games for the Sixers, averaging 4.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists.
Terry, 24, could give Golden State a younger and more defensive-minded option on the wing, while Williams would provide additional guard creation and Niang would bring proven three-point shooting.
With open roster spots still available, the Warriors now appear to be actively evaluating several options as they put the finishing touches on their roster.
