Crystal Palace CB Jemide heading to Portuguese club co-owned by Real Madrid star
Super Eagles-eligible defender Mofe Jemide is preparing to bid farewell to everyone associated with Crystal Palace, with the centre-back in advanced talks over a move to a Portuguese Primeira Liga club.
According to Sky Sports UK, the Tottenham native is closing in on a move to Alverca, where he would link up with Nigerian left-back Isaac James if the deal goes through.
Subject to passing a routine medical, Jemide is expected to sign a three-year contract with Alverca.
Real Madrid star Vinícius Júnior and a consortium of Spanish and Brazilian investors purchased a 70–80 percent stake in FC Alverca in February 2025.
Last month, Jemide was named in Palace's squad for their pre-season trip to Como and was also included in the first-team squad for the club's pre-season tour of the United States ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
However, the promising defender has never been named in a matchday squad for an official first-team game.
He joined the Eagles at U13 level and was a member of the U15 side that reached the final of the National Floodlit Cup during the 2021-22 campaign.
Described as a modern-day centre-back, Jemide made 20 appearances across Premier League 2, the EFL Trophy and the Premier League International Cup last season.
