Only two things in the world are always met with deep skepticism: The Big Bang Theory and political promises. Perhaps we can add a third one: Ben Simmons in the offseason.
Simmons is trying to return to the NBA after his nearly two-year hiatus. The once-promising guard, who became a professional angler after stepping away from the NBA, has been working out as he tries to get a call from any team.
A video showed the 30-year-old Simmons playing in a pickup game, with the caption glazing his jumper, describing it as “looking smooth.”
Fans roasted the post as quickly as Simmons passes up a wide-open layup.

“How's he still shooting with the wrong hand after winning a fishing championship with the right hand?” asked @fan_a_delphia.
“No way the cycle is continuing in the big 2026,” added @WadexFlash.
“Seen this episode. In a month, he'll post a selfie in the ocean,” predicted @OldMFFL.
“We're not falling for this 10 years in a row,” commented @EliteHoopsVault.
There have been rumors that Simmons will return to the Philadelphia 76ers, but ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel stated that it is very unlikely due to the team's financial limitations.
Simmons recently took to Instagram to talk about his journey, stressing that he would not change anything about it. He added that he is “ready for wherever this goes.”
The three-time All-Star and two-time All-Defense last played for the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2024-2025 season, averaging career-lows of 2.9 points, 43.4% shooting, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 16.4 minutes off the bench in 18 games.
