Historically in Air Jordan lexicon, the “Taxi” nickname has been associated with the Air Jordan 12 worn by Michael Jordan during the 1996-97 NBA season. And while that original Taxi style was subtle in its cab-inspired yellow accenting, Jordan Brand reportedly has a new legacy Retro model on the way that pushes the color to the forefront.
According to @zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files, an all-new Air Jordan 10 Retro Taxi will be released in 2027. As of now, the sneaker’s colorway is listed as Varsity Maize/Multi-color-Multi-color, but it’s likely that more specific color callouts will be confirmed closer to the style’s launch.
The pair is expected to feature a yellow leather upper with a two-tone black-and-white-striped outsole listing off some of Jordan’s biggest career accomplishments. A checkered yellow-and-black liner compliments the look, while Jordan’s number 23 embroidery is expected to appear at the collar. Unique to this upcoming colorway is a first-of-its-kind detail for the Air Jordan 10: Nike Air heel branding, which replaces the stitched Jumpman historically seen on the model’s original releases and retro reissues.

While it’s not the most celebrated model in the four-decades-and-counting history of the Air Jordan line, the Air Jordan 10 has had plenty of desirable releases over the years. Its most coveted styles are arguably the original five-sneaker City Series pack, several of which have been reissued over the years. Still to come for the group set is the first rerelease of the Sacramento style, which is set to arrive during holiday 2026, which will leave the New York makeup as the only pair that hasn’t received a retro launch.
The Air Jordan 10 Retro Taxi is set to be released on May 21 from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers globally for $215. The colorway is not expected to be a limited-edition release and its style code is JA3661-700.
