The Denver Nuggets offered a four-year, $70 million contract with a team option for the fourth season to Peyton Watson, but the talented restricted free agent believes he deserves more.
Peyton Watson has yet to make a move in his ongoing restricted free agency, as the talented forward remains firm in his belief that his true value exceeds the Denver Nuggets’ contract offer.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Nuggets have proposed a $70 million deal for four years to Watson.
"There is, at some point, a Peyton Watson plot twist yet to come. Maybe the Denver Nuggets’ restricted free-agent wing eventually gets the money and role he’s seeking by way of sign-and-trade, with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and LA Clippers all remaining in the hunt for the 23-year-old," the report indicated.
"It’s possible he strikes a deal with the Nuggets, whose present offer — four years, $70 million, with a team option in the fourth season, per a league source — falls well short of where he sees his worth."

Peyton Watson remains stuck in this year's offseason, where many await what might be his future as a restricted free agent.
Currently, amid their reported contract offer, the Denver Nuggets are still mulling over whether they will retain him or execute a sign-and-trade deal with several teams pursuing Watson.
In the 2025-26 season, Watson had a breakout campaign by averaging a career-high 14.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. Unfortunately, injuries limited him to just 54 games for Denver.
As most of the teams have already spent significantly this offseason, it's now up to Watson on whether he will entertain a reunion with the Nuggets via a long-term deal or seek new beginnings elsewhere.
