1. Stolen Goods, Including $150K Toothpaste Haul, Recovered In Organized Theft Crackdown: LASD (patch.com) โ Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives carried out a series of coordinated stings that led to six arrests and the recovery of more than $192,000 in stolen goods, including a massive toothpaste haul. Several suspects from Los Angeles were tied to organized retail theft and residential burglaries across the region, with cases now headed to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for potential charges.
2. Lakers Sold To Bob Iger, Kushner In Record $12.5B Deal (patch.com) โ Los Angeles sports fans are watching a seismic shift as the Lakers are set to be sold for a record $12.5 billion to an ownership group led by Bob Iger and Josh Kushner. The prospective new owners, who already have ties to Los Angeles sports, say they aim to honor the Buss legacy while keeping the team competitive for local fans.
3. Body Found On 210 Freeway During Morning Commute (patch.com) โ Morning commuters on the westbound 210 Freeway in Azusa faced major delays after authorities discovered a person dead in the roadway, triggering a full lane closure and SigAlert. Los Angeles County Fire Department crews and CHP officers responded, eventually reopening lanes around 6:20 a.m., while investigators continue working to determine what happened and identify the victim.
4. LAUSD Students to Return to Classes Under New Screen-Time Rules (sanfernandosun.com) โ Los Angeles Unified students are heading back to class under strict new limits on digital device use during the school day, especially for the youngest grades.
