Tracy McGrady is expecting a major bounce-back season from Anthony Davis and the Washington Wizards.
Speaking on the Cousins podcast, the Hall of Famer predicted Davis will reach 65 games during the 2026-27 season while helping Washington secure a direct playoff or Play-In position in the Eastern Conference.
"This is last extension, bro," McGrady said. "So I think he's going to come in the best shape he's came into a training camp in quite sometime…. The Wizards are going to be a six or seven seed."

McGrady's prediction comes with Davis' long-term future in Washington still unresolved.
The 33-year-old became eligible for a four-year extension worth as much as $275 million in August, although Davis and the Wizards have reportedly not rushed into serious negotiations.
His current contract includes a $62.8 million player option for the 2027-28 season.
Davis arrived in Washington from the Dallas Mavericks at the 2026 trade deadline but never appeared for the Wizards during the remainder of the season because of injuries.
He played only 20 games for Dallas in 2025-26, averaging 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 blocks.
McGrady predicts massive Wizards turnaround
A sixth- or seventh-place finish would represent an enormous turnaround for Washington.
The Wizards finished the 2025-26 campaign with a league-worst 17-65 record, but their roster will look significantly different next season.
Washington now has Davis alongside Trae Young, No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa and young pieces such as Alex Sarr, Bilal Coulibaly and Tre Johnson. The Wizards also added former Lakers center Deandre Ayton during the offseason.
Young has committed to Washington on a new four-year, $212 million contract after an injury-shortened first season with the franchise.
The Wizards have not reached the playoffs since the 2020-21 season, but with major roster turnover, expectations could be significantly higher entering 2026-27.
