With the NBA season just over two months away, Ivica Zubac is ready for the new season. Tyrese Haliburton is ready to return after missing the 2025-26 season and dismissed concerns over his ability to play with him, according to Hoops Hype.
“I have had zero court time with Zu. But I don't think that's a concern. I really don't. He'll get back out here after playing with his country in September-ish. That's typically when we all come in. I really don't have a concern because he's very smart,” Haliburton told Hoops Hype.
Haliburton has repeatedly indicated happiness with the addition after the Pacers traded for Zubac last season. The Pacers took a nosedive last season after Haliburton's injury and Myles Turner's departure to Milwaukee, falling to 19-63. Now, they look to bounce back and become a contender again.
Haliburton's return should help, as he is one of the best players in the NBA, averaging 18.6 points and 9.2 assists per game. His return could rejuvenate a starting lineup that includes Zubac, Pascal Siakam, Aaron Nesmith, and Andrew Nembhard. Plus, T.J. McConnell, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Obi Toppin will continue to come off the bench. It will be a different experience for the star point guard.
“There is going to be a transition period for me because the last time I played it was with a guy who really spaced the floor at the 5. But I've never played with a screen setter like this. I've never played with a roller like this. I'm really looking forward to it,” Haliburton added.
The Pacers will likely have their full lineup when they kick things off in October. How they will perform is anyone's guess.
