In the wake of the Los Angeles Lakers' unforeseen sale, Luka Doncic is slated to meet the new owners of the franchise for a virtual call.
Apparently, the Slovenian superstar was not even consulted about the looming sale of the team, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.
"Doncic was not consulted about the sale, sources told ESPN, but he plans to have a video conference call with Iger and Kushner next week from Slovenia as he prepares to host his teammates for a minicamp in his home country," McMenamin wrote.

In a record-breaking amount, Mark Walter sold the Los Angeles Lakers to Josh Kushner and Bob Iger for $12.5 billion, setting a new mark for the most expensive purchase of a sports franchise in history.
Beyond the fact that it is bewildering that Walter gave up the Lakers after just 14 months as owner, the most shocking part of the entire process is that he only took three days to finalize the sale to Kushner and Iger.
Nevertheless, even if he is also shocked by the development like anybody else, Luka Doncic has expressed his immense support for the new owners in Los Angeles.
"Being a Laker means everything to me, and I'm excited to get back on the court and bring a championship to LA," Doncic wrote on X.
"I've gotten used to big changes over these last few years, but I know that no matter what, there is no limit to the potential of this iconic franchise. I look forward to meeting Josh and Bob so we can get to work building something special in LA together."
In a unique trend in Doncic’s career, Iger and Kushner’s upcoming takeover of the Lakers will mark the fifth different majority ownership group the Slovenian superstar has played under.
