WWE SmackDown Boston Rundown (8/14/26) – What to Expect:
It’s going to be a high-stakes night this Friday as three of WWE’s richest prizes will be up for grabs. The new and improved MFT of Talla Tonga, Tama Tonga and their father, WWE legend Haku, have rocked the foundation of the SmackDown tag team division, crashing the party in the “winner-take-all” match between WWE Tag Team Champions R-Truth and Damian Priest and AAA World Tag Team Champions The War Raiders on last week’s SmackDown to lead to a no-contest.
Tama and Talla made it clear that they’re not waiting around any longer. With the guidance of their father, the takeover will more than likely begin in Boston, as the Tongans look as imposing as ever and, we bet, they will be the ones walking out of TD Garden as #AndNEW WWE Tag Team Champions.

Speaking of Boston, hometown boy Carmelo Hayes is on a warpath to reclaim the United States Title that he felt like was taken from him just weeks away from WrestleMania 42. Melo has been overlooked and treated like an afterthought for months; now, there’s no more waiting, as he made it clear to Baron Corbin that he will take the U.S. Title from him, and what better way to do it than in “Bean Town?”
Personally, we would love to see Melo win, but historically and considering Corbin just won the strap, Hayes’ odds are at a 50/50 split since WWE hates having hometown heroes come out of their matches with the win in hand.

Someone who might have better luck at WWE SmackDown Boston is Jacy Jayne. Fatal Influence, Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley now hold the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, and what could make that even better? Well, their leader holding the Women’s U.S. Title. For months, WWE has positioned Fatal Influence as the heir apparent to the SmackDown Women’s Division.
They may have gotten cold feet, or they really felt Chelsea Green deserved it (because she does), and that’s why they’re easing Jayne into a bigger spotlight with the U.S. Women’s Title instead of her carrying the top prize, which is still a win because Fatal Influence can get their feet wet without carrying all of the division on their backs. We expect Jayne to come out of this with the Women’s United States Title in hand, as a Stratton heel turn may be in the cards, so the new Interim WWE Women’s Champion, Chelsea Green, has her first big opponent.
