Real Madrid have officially strengthened their frontcourt with the signing of former Cleveland Cavaliers center Olivier Sarr.
The Spanish powerhouse announced Saturday that Sarr has agreed to a two-year contract, keeping him with Madrid through the end of the 2027-28 season.
The 27-year-old French big man arrives in Europe after spending the past several seasons between the NBA and G League.
He is the older brother of Washington Wizards big man Alex Sarr.
Sarr joined Cleveland on a two-way contract in March 2026 after spending most of the season with Raptors 905 in the G League. Before signing with the Cavaliers, he averaged 11.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 blocks in 39 appearances for Raptors 905.
He made four NBA appearances for Cleveland during the 2025-26 regular season, averaging 3.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 71.4% from the field.
The 2.08-meter center went undrafted in 2021 after finishing his college career at Kentucky. He had previously played at Wake Forest before transferring to the Wildcats.
Sarr has accumulated four years of NBA experience, with a previous stop at the Oklahoma City Thunder before his move to Cleveland.
He has appeared in 50 NBA games and posted 4.7 points and 3.4 rebounds.
The move marks Sarr's first major opportunity in European club basketball after spending his professional career in North America.
