Rajon Rondo believes that LeBron James taking his talents to the Philadelphia 76ers is the best possible move he can ever made this offseason.
Joining the Road Trippin' Show, the former NBA star praised his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate's decision to join the 76ers, picking them as his early favorites to win the 2027 NBA title.
“Brilliant move," the former NBA star described. "I mean, he's got arguably the young best point guard in the game [Tyrese Maxey]. I think he averaged 30 points a game this year. Bron is like the king on the chessboard. He has a lot of all the pieces, all the right pieces to make the right moves.
"We all know he's a great basketball [player], one of the greatest basketball minds to play the game. If you give him these types of pieces to play with, I'm on an early bet with them being the favorites to win. I'm not a bettor, but if I were to bet, I would bet the Sixers early."

In one of the most shocking events of this roller-coaster 2026 NBA offseason, LeBron James left the Los Angeles Lakers and eventually joined the Philadelphia 76ers for the next stop of his NBA career.
He signed a two-year, $8 million contract with a player option, committing himself to the Sixers for at least a year.
James' arrival completes the 76ers' reputation as the most anticipated team to play next NBA season. Philadelphia previously landed Jaylen Brown in a stunner deal with the Boston Celtics to construct what might be the most talented five-man lineup in the league.
With James and Brown in along with the Sixers' core of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe, Philadelphia is in a great spot to win their first-ever NBA title since 1983.
Beyond the massive potential and the strong chances to help him win his fifth NBA title, Rajon Rondo further believes that James simply joined the 76ers out of the team's positive personalities that fit his current career.
"I also think it's the personalities too in the locker room. I think that plays a big difference," Rondo noted. "I mean, Bron, at this age, you know, he wants to have a good time as well."
