Anthony Edwards is firm and bullish about how the Minnesota Timberwolves will fare among the West powerhouses next NBA season.
Particularly, he is convinced that he and the Timberwolves have what it takes to beat the two best teams in the highly competitive Conference.
In his media availability during his visit to Manila for his Adidas World Tour, Edwards did not shy away from claiming that they can outlast the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
"Against those two teams, I think we're going to beat them," Edwards told ESPN Philippines.

The San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder are the current biggest obstacles for every contending West team in the NBA.
As it is, both teams went toe-to-toe in seven intense games of last postseason's Western Conference Finals. Yet in the end, it was the Spurs who prevailed behind the brilliance of Victor Wembanyama.
The Thunder and the Spurs are primarily responsible for eliminating Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the previous two NBA Playoffs. Heading into next season, desperation can't be any higher for Minnesota to finally get over the hump and avenge these downfalls.

Nevertheless, Anthony Edwards acknowledges that the Minnesota Timberwolves will be sustaining growing pains to start their campaign, knowing that they added new faces, headlined by LaMelo Ball.
The Timberwolves have landed the point guard of their future to pair with Edwards in Ball, who was acquired from the Charlotte Hornets in a multi-team trade that saw Julius Randle's departure.
"It would mean a lot [to win a championship]... But right now, I don't think we're thinking about winning the championship," Edwards said. "It's step by step. We got LaMelo, a new player, and a bunch of new pieces."
"So, we are just trying to build it together and I think we're trying to gel it all together."
