Former Denver Nuggets executive Tomas Balcetis is returning to the NBA, joining the Philadelphia 76ers after spending one season back in Europe.
Balcetis announced the move himself on LinkedIn, revealing that he has joined Philadelphia as Head of Basketball Intelligence, Analytics & Innovation.
The move brings the Lithuanian executive back to the NBA after only a brief absence and places him in a significant role focused on analytics, innovation and the use of data within Philadelphia's basketball operations.
Balcetis brings championship experience to Philadelphia
Before returning to Europe in 2025, Balcetis spent 12 years with the Denver Nuggets organization, rising through the front office to become head of basketball analytics and later an assistant general manager.
He was part of Denver's front office during its rise around Nikola Jokic and helped the organization capture the first NBA championship in franchise history in 2023.
Balcetis left Denver last year and spent the 2025-26 season with Zalgiris Kaunas, where his work centered primarily on innovation, analytics and technology-based tools for player evaluation.
His stay in Lithuania ultimately lasted only one season, with reports emerging earlier this summer that he was expected to return to the NBA.
That destination has now been confirmed as Philadelphia, where Balcetis will bring more than a decade of NBA experience and a championship background to the 76ers' basketball operations department.
