An insight into the profit secured by La Liga giants Real Madrid for playing their part in a recent friendly with German outfit Schalke has come to the fore online.
José Mourinho’s troops were back in action on Sunday, making the trip to Veltins-Arena amid the club’s ongoing preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.
When all was said and done on another fine day’s work for Los Blancos, they emerged on the right side of a 3-0 result, to keep alive an unbeaten run in pre-season.
Their efforts on the pitch, though, were far from the only positive takeaway from yesterday’s action for Real Madrid, as a club.
As since revealed by Blancos journalist Ramón Álvarez de Mon:
‘Real Madrid have pocketed 1.5 million euros for the match played against Schalke 04 with expenses paid. That is to say, it’s a net amount.’
