Real Madrid youngster signs first-team contract

MADRID, SPAIN - MARCH 22: Thiago Pitarch of Real Madrid leaves the pitch as Kylian Mbappe and Trent Alexander-Arnold of Real Madrid prepare to enter the pitch as substitutes during the LaLiga EA Sports match between Real Madrid CF and Atletico de Madrid at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on March 22, 2026 in Madrid, Spain. An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week been rewarded with a permanent first-team berth.

The Blancos starlet in question? Thiago Pitarch.

Midfielder Pitarch is for his part of course fresh off something of a breakout campaign in Spain’s capital in 2025/26. Amid a personnel crisis in Real’s engine room ranks, the teen, then just 18 years of age, secured for himself a prominent role over the 2nd half of the term.

All told, Pitarch went on to rack up 16 appearances between La Liga and the Champions League, chipping in with a pair of assists along the way.

After it was previously suggested that the Spanish youth international could be moved on this summer to secure fresh funds, it was in turn more recently assured that Pitarch features centrally in the plans of new manager José Mourinho.

And as alluded to above, this week, the latter plan of action has been all but confirmed. As per a report from Blancos insider Javier Rodríguez Pascual of ESPN:

‘Thiago Pitarch signed his new contract yesterday as a player for Real Madrid’s first team.’
