OG Anunoby has clarified his previous comments about already being "over" his tip-in during the New York Knicks' historic NBA championship run, explaining that he was not trying to diminish what winning the title meant to him.
Earlier this month, Anunoby was asked whether he still experienced the same emotions when watching his iconic game-winning tip-in from Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals. The Knicks forward simply responded, "No. I'm over it now," as he shifted his attention toward the upcoming season.
Anunoby has now explained what he meant by the characteristically brief response in an interview to Fadeaway World.
"I'm not over it as if I don't care about it," Anunoby said. "It's more about that I'm ready for the next season."
"It was fun winning a championship. It was amazing. But we all want to do it again. So it's about getting ready to start the next season. Hopefully we can do it again."
Anunoby already focused on another championship
Anunoby produced one of the defining moments of New York's championship run in Game 4 against the San Antonio Spurs.
With the Knicks trailing 106-105, Anunoby tipped in Jalen Brunson's missed three-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining, completing a 29-point comeback - the largest in NBA Finals history - and giving New York a 107-106 victory and a 3-1 series lead.

The Knicks went on to secure their first NBA championship since 1973, turning Anunoby's tip-in into one of the signature plays of the title run.
His original "I'm over it" response therefore was not about forgetting the accomplishment. Instead, Anunoby says he has already moved from celebrating New York's championship to preparing for the challenge of winning another one.
For Anunoby and the defending champions, the goal is no longer simply reflecting on what happened last season - it is finding a way to do it again.
