Brighton striker Evan Ferguson is expected to finalise his move away from Brighton in the coming days.
The Ireland international continues his recovery from an ankle injury but is expected to be available to play in October.
Sky Sports reported that Italian club Genoa have reached a loan agreement with Brighton, with Genoa expected to cover 30 per cent of his wages.
Ferguson was in Serie A last season with Roma but his loan was cut short due to the ankle injury.
It will be Ferguson's third loan in two years as the striker also had an unsuccessful and brief stint at West Ham in 2025.
Ferguson is contracted with Brighton until 2029. He has made 80 appearances for the Seagulls in total with 17 goals and six assists.
Promise David
Yesterday Brighton sealed the signing of striker Promise David from Union SG. The Canada international joined on a season loan, with an obligation to buy for a fee believed to be around £22m.
Brighton sporting director Mike Cave said, “Promise is someone we have been watching for some time, he is an out-and-out striker who possesses outstanding physical attributes and a track record of scoring goals.
“His experience at international level and in European competition will hopefully prove valuable this season.”
David’s arrival will help Brighton as they prepare for life after Danny Welbeck. The 35-year-old former Manchester United and Arsenal man joined Chelsea earlier this summer on a two year contract.
Chelsea want £120m for Enzo
Meanwhile, Manchester City will have to pay Chelsea more than £120million to sign Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea if they try to complete a deal in the final two weeks of the transfer window, according to the Telegraph.
A deadline for offers set by the London club passed on Friday, but City remain interested.
The Blues also want around £100m if they are to sell winger Pedro Neto this summer, with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal among the clubs interested in the Portugal international, as reported by the Mail.
Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham are all also reportedly interested in Neto, who arrived at Stamford Bridge for £54m from Wolves in 2024.
Dedic is done and Casado to Man United?
Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign 22-year-old Spain midfielder Marc Casado, who has been made available by Barcelona, according to Spanish publication Sport.
Newcastle have signed Bosnia and Herzegovina defender Amar Dedic from Benfica for a reported fee of £29.5million.
The 24-year-old, who made three appearances for his country at the World Cup, has agreed a five-year contract and becomes the Magpies’ sixth summer arrival.
Dedic is reunited with boss Matthias Jaissle, who he played under during spells at previous clubs Liefering and Salzburg.
The full-back said: “It’s a special feeling and a really big honour for me to join Newcastle United. I can’t wait to start playing for the club and their amazing fans.
“Working with Matthias again was a big factor for me. We know each other well, he knows what I can bring on the pitch and I’m really happy to be playing for him again.”
Dedic, who has 31 international caps, began his professional career at Salzburg in 2015 and spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Marseille before joining Benfica in the summer of 2025.
