Made some fantastic saves throughout, with quick reflex but his positioning for those saves were very impressive. Made some great throws to start counter attacks too.
A solid display at right back, didn’t exactly shut his side of the pitch down but competed well and made a good clearance late on from a back post cross.
Another solid display at the back, threw himself at anything that came near him in the box. Got forward late on as we looked for a winner and showed some good strength and skill near the corner flag to keep the ball in play.
Very comfortable for most of the game, using the ball as well as you’d expect from a senior player, and made some great blocks inside the box. Only nitpick is that he sometimes pushed up a little too aggressively to challenge for the ball and it gave PSV the opportunity for a quick one-two around him.
A good display from left back, was just as solid as Jenson Jones on the other side but contributed more going forward where he was always making himself available on the overlap. Got a good shot off in the first half that was well saved, then fired a free kick on target but unfortunately right at the goalkeeper.
Was good on the ball all afternoon and made plenty of interceptions, on the receiving end of a bit of rough treatment in the second half and had to go off.
Whipped a first time shot past the post in the first half and the played in Lightfoot for his effort on goal, generally played much deeper though, alongside Hunt and did fine there.
Drifted in and out of the game but still had a a couple of very dangerous runs, once in the first half when he got onto the end of Cowan’s long throw but was stopped by a magnicent tackle, then late on he drove down the left and slipped in Neill for a chance.
Like Tutierov on the other wing, found it difficult to get involved for long spells but showed a great touch inside the box, stepped inside and fired past the goalkeeper for the equaliser.
Showed some really quick feet at times to take a quick touch to get around a PSV player and play in a teammate. Created Jack Whittaker’s first half chance with a lovely backheel flick.
Ran the channels well all afternoon but looks a bit lacking in confidence after his disappointing loan spells last season. Had a couple of great chances after getting in behind the PSV defence in the second half, rounding the goalkeeper both times. The first time saw the young striker fire over when the net was wide open, the second time he was dragged down by the goalkeeper, who was the last man, only for the referee to only book the PSV ‘keeper.
Replaced Liam Hunt in midfield and did a decent job.
Took Ogunsuyi’s place up top and had a couple of half chances, one after being played in by Tutierov saw the goalkeeper make a good save, then could only head a deep cross well over.
A late change as he replaced Scott, the club’s Academy Player of the Year didn’t have long to impress but almost won it late on after beating his man near the byline, cut inside and his superb shot was equally well saved by the goalkeeper.
Cowan was easily man of the match today, made a half dozen good saves and we’d have lost without his display. Also showed some forward thinking with some very accurate quick long throws to the half way line to start counter attacks.
