Aston Villa have completed the signing of Japan international goalkeeper Zion Suzuki from Parma, strengthening Unai Emery’s squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
Suzuki joins the English club in a €30 million deal, with a further €5 million in add-ons. The 23-year-old has signed a long-term contract with Villa after establishing himself as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in European football.
The move follows Villa’s completion of the signing of Italian left-back Matteo Ruggeri during an active summer transfer window. Suzuki previously attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain before that proposed move collapsed, allowing Villa to secure his services.
The Japan international spent two seasons at Parma after joining the Italian club from Belgian side Sint-Truiden in 2024. He has also been a regular member of Japan’s senior national team and represented the country at the 2026 World Cup.
Villa are now expected to turn their attention to another defensive reinforcement, with former Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka reportedly next on their transfer list. The club’s recruitment drive continues as Emery prepares his squad for another demanding campaign.
