Leeds United were heavily tipped to relegated last season. Pundits and people in English football never gave the club a chance before a ball was kicked.
Some even predicted that Daniel Farke would be sacked in the middle of the campaign.

But the team proved everyone wrong and exceeded all expectations. The club had a very impressive run in the second half of the season that ultimately lead them to survive the league.
A large part of the Whites’ success was their work in the transfer market.
Frank Lampard wants his club to emulate Leeds United this season
Leeds United spent over £100 million, with the plan of signing quality players from top European leagues.
The focus was also on players who could match the intensity of the football in England.
That served them well as they finished 14th. Sunderland also had a similar transfer approach, and that saw them qualify for Europe after a very impressive campaign.
Coventry City have been promoted this time around, and head coach Frank Lampard says Leeds and Sunderland are the clubs his side are trying to emulate.
“They’ve changed that rhetoric a little bit. Those stories are important for us to analyse and we’ve looked a lot at those two specific teams,” Lampard told ESPN.
“To see how they played gives us inspiration, but it will be us that manages to make that story for ourselves — but, of course we’ve looked at those stories. We want to be confident in what we do, it’s our job to set out the strategy for the boys game by game — and they deserve to be here.”
Coventry have already hit the £120 million mark and could bring in more players before the deadline.

Leeds need more improvements ahead of transfer deadline
The 49ers have done a great job with the additions so far in this window.
James Trafford comes in to solve the goalkeeping problem, and Tarik Muharemovic has proven to be a quality player so far. Harry Wilson’s quality already speaks for itself based on his recent seasons.
Nicol Elvedi also comes in to bolster the defence ahead of the new season.
The club have added some key players down the spine of the squad, but some areas still need to be addressed.
Leeds need more presence up front, and this is clear as the Whites are eyeing a striker in this window. Another attacking midfielder could also add some real quality to this team.
