**Zion Suzuki** spoke about his excitement at joining **Aston Villa**.
The shot stopper spent the last two seasons of his club career at **Parma** in **Serie A** and represented **Japan** in all four of their fixtures at the **World Cup** this summerbefore making his move to the Midlands. He has cost the club a fee of €30 million that could rise to €35 million with bonuses.

In a summer of significant turnover for the _Villans_,this transfer calms nerves. The team have already seen **Lucas Digne**, **Morgan Rogers** and **Youri Tielemans** walk out of the door, and first choice goalkeeper **Emiliano Martinez** nearly joined that list as he was on the verge of a switch to **Juventus**.
The deal has now collapsed as **Guglielmo Vicario** has agreed on a loan spell with the side, leaving **Tottenham** in the process, but it is not ideal for **Unai Emery** to have to deal with uncertainty about the number one position. **Marco Bizot** has been a valuable deputy for the group, stepping up in place of the Argentine at the start of last season, but the arrival of Suzuki should allow the squad to look to the future regardless of what happens next. Suzuki is equally excited about this upcoming chapter.
