Leeds United have unveiled their new 2026-27 adidas third kit, with the Whites opting for a stealthy black and dark grey design for their latest alternative strip.
Following the release of Leeds United’s home and yellow away shirts for the new campaign, the third jersey takes the club in a very different direction. adidas have produced a predominantly black shirt featuring a tonal graphic pattern across the body and sleeves, creating one of the darker Leeds kits of recent years.
Black and Grey Design for Leeds United
The Leeds United 2026-27 third shirt uses a black base combined with an intricate dark grey graphic running throughout the jersey.
Rather than using a plain black template, adidas have incorporated an abstract pattern into the material, giving the shirt considerably more detail when viewed up close. The design is understood to reference the city of Leeds and its architecture, bringing a local influence to an otherwise understated colour scheme.
Silver-grey detailing provides the contrast, most noticeably through the famous adidas Three Stripes across the shoulders.
The adidas Performance logo is also presented in grey on the chest, while the Leeds United crest has been given a monochrome makeover to complement the shirt’s dark aesthetic.
It is a particularly smart treatment of the club badge, with the traditional colours replaced by black and grey while retaining the familiar Leeds United crest design.
Red Bull Sponsor Provides a Splash of Colour
One element that certainly stands out against the otherwise monochrome shirt is the Red Bull front-of-shirt sponsor.
While adidas and the Leeds crest have been adapted to fit the black and grey colour palette, the Red Bull branding retains its familiar red and yellow colours.
That creates a deliberately strong contrast in the centre of the jersey and provides virtually the only significant splash of colour across the new Leeds third shirt.
The jersey is completed by a black crew-neck collar with grey piping, while the dark colour scheme continues onto the shorts to create an almost completely black third strip.
A Modern Look from adidas
Where Leeds’ 2026-27 away shirt leans heavily into the club’s heritage, including the return of the much-loved white rose crest, the new third kit feels considerably more contemporary.
The tonal graphics, monochrome crest and metallic-looking adidas detailing give it an almost training-wear or streetwear appearance, while still retaining enough detailing to make the shirt distinctive.
It also continues adidas’ recent willingness to experiment with Leeds’ alternative kits rather than being restricted to the club’s traditional white, blue and yellow palette.
Black has appeared regularly within Leeds United’s kit history, but the combination of the dark tonal pattern and grey branding gives the 2026-27 Leeds United third kit an especially understated appearance.
Leeds United 2026-27 adidas Kit Collection
The new third shirt completes another varied set of adidas kits for Leeds United.
The club’s 2026-27 home kit maintains the traditional white identity associated with the Whites, while the away shirt brought back a classic yellow colourway alongside adidas’ Trefoil logo and the historic white rose badge.
The black third kit offers the complete contrast, providing Leeds with a much darker alternative for the new season.
With its subtle city-inspired graphics and monochrome detailing, it is a shirt that should also have plenty of appeal away from the pitch.
