**Brenden Aaronson** has signed a 3-year contract extension with **Leeds United** after a solid campaign upon _The Whites_ return to the Premier League last season.
The American also played a key role in Leeds' **EFL Championship** title-winning campaign in 2024/25, scoring 9 goals and grabbing 1 assist after deciding to fight for his place at the club following a loan spell at **Union Berlin.** His return divided opinion massively as many fans saw it as a way of avoiding the hard graft needed to bounce back to the **Premier League**, but the **USA** international took it on the chin and has won a fair number of his critics back through a number of quality energetic performances.

Aaronson had an impressive campaign in the Premier League last season, scoring 4 goals and registering 5 assists in 37 appearances. A big part of his game that often goes unrecognised is his immense work rate out of possession, which saw him average 10.8km per game last season, ranking him amongst the top percentage of distance covered per game.
Starting on the right wing for the first half of last season, his attacking threat was clear for all to see - he just needed time to settle and adjust to a new position he was unfamiliar with. His defensive work-rate massively benefited **Jayden Bogle**, who was able to bomb forward more frequently and have an extra layer of cover when defending through the American.
Aaronson becomes the third Leeds player in two days to sign a new contract with the club, a clear show of faith from manager **Daniel Farke** that the American remains a key part of his plans and a valued member of the squad going forward.
Leeds travel to The City Ground for a season opener away to **Nottingham Forrest**, where Aaronson an co will be looking to start the season on a high and grab all three points.
