Brentford confirm new squad number for Super Eagles CB Fredrick after first team promotion
Brentford have officially confirmed their first-team squad numbers ahead of the 2026-27 season, with Benjamin Fredrick handed a new shirt number.
The Bees have confirmed that the Super Eagles centre-back has been promoted to the first team after signing a new four-year contract last month, with the club holding an option to extend the deal for the 2030-31 season.
Fredrick will wear the No. 48 shirt for Brentford during the 2026-27 campaign.
Kaye Furo, son of former Super Eagles defender Iyenemi Furo, has been allocated the No. 47 shirt, while Nigeria Football Federation target Michael Kayode will retain the No. 33 shirt he has worn since his days at Fiorentina.
Fredrick has changed his shirt number after previously wearing No. 43 and No. 44 during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons respectively.
Although the Simoiben Football Academy product has yet to make his first-team debut for Brentford, he has been named in the matchday squad for six first team fixtures.
He was an unused substitute in Premier League matches against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Bournemouth, as well as FA Cup ties against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Fredrick spent last season on loan at Belgian side FC Dender, but a knee injury suffered after returning from international duty with the Super Eagles in November limited him to 15 appearances in all competitions.
