Liverpool has reportedly had a second bid rejected by Brighton for winger Yankuba Minteh as it steps up its search for attacking reinforcements.
Reds boss Andoni Iraola has made no secret of his desire to bring in multiple wingers this summer following Mohamed Salah's departure. Bradley Barcola is the top target for Liverpool, while PSG teammate Ibrahim Mbaye has also been linked but there has so far been no progress.
It emerged earlier this week that the Reds had an initial offer turned down for Minteh, who is currently sidelined and expected to miss at least the first two months of the season.
According to The Athletic, an improved offer of $82M (£60m) has now been made and also turned down by the Seagulls, who are holding out for $95M (£70m).
Minteh joined Brighton in 2024 and has made an impression in the Premier League. However, he is currently recovering from surgery on a leg injury picked up in pre-season.
His absence could range from anywhere between two to three months and it remains to be seen if Liverpool will return with an improved offer.
Victor Munoz has already arrived at Anfield but Liverpool is short in attacking areas with Hugo Ekitike still sidelined. And Iraola has admitted he needs more than one addition.

Speaking to Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports, he said: "We'll definitely sign players, yes. I hope more than one. The thing is, me as a coach selfishly, I want the players for the first day of pre-season so everyone is ready to go, but also I understand how this works.
"Some days you have to wait until the end. The important picture is the one we have on September 1 and I hope, because it's true that we are still quite thin, that we can have more help from here until the end of the market. "
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Iraola added: ""What do we need? There are certain situations we need, specifically in the wing, other positions we have to be open-minded in the market that can honestly improve our team. It's about improving the squad, we have very good players already, to improve we need specific players."
