Sunderland are preparing to kick off their new campaign this weekend...
Sunderland have garnered something of a reputation for producing quality academy talent in recent years, and with that in mind, we’ve picked out three of the best and brightest emerging names to keep an eye this coming season...
Timur Tutierov
After shining during a loan spell with Exeter City last season, Tutierov has been heavily involved in Sunderland’s preparations, and looks set to remain on Wearside with view to keeping him around the first team picture over the coming months. A pacy and exciting attacker, the hope will be that he can kick on in an elite senior environment. He certainly has the potential to do so.
Finn Geragusian
Already capped at senior international level by Armenia, it is no secret that Geragusian is very highly thought of. A powerful and clinical striker, the teenager has been a frequent goal-scorer for the U21s in recent times, and while he may have to be patient for first team opportunities, another good campaign at development level could set him up for greater involvement further down the line.
Tom Proctor
The son of former Sunderland star - and current first team coach - Michael Proctor, the precocious talent was the youngest member of the Black Cats’ travelling party to the United States earlier this summer, and marked his first senior outing with a goal against York City a few days prior. An advanced midfielder with creative quality in abundance, this season could see him really establish himself as an undeniably key figure at youth level.
