Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was quick to direct people back to comments from Gary Neville on the eve of the new season following Manchester United's defeat at Hull

Jamie Carragher reacted to Manchester United's 2-0 defeat to Hull City on the Premier League's opening weekend with a telling social media post.
In reply to a Sky Sports video from Friday night, when he accused Gary Neville of getting carried away about Manchester United, who have brought in the likes of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos for manager Michael Carrick, Carragher hinted that his comments were already coming true.
Neville is predicting that Manchester United, who played the minimum number of games possible last season, having failed to qualify for any European soccer, and getting knocked out of the domestic cups at the first round too, will finish ahead of Liverpool.
"People are getting very carried away with Man United," Carragher told Neville during Sky Sports' broadcast of Arsenal vs Coventry. "Man United's back four is the same back four they had five years ago."
"But are you a little bit worried about Liverpool this season?" Carragher was questioned by Neville, to which he replied: "We finished fifth last season; it can't be any worse than last season."
Later, Neville asked: "I think Manchester United, currently, are probably in a better place than Liverpool, would you agree?"
"Right now? No, I think Liverpool's best XI is still better than Manchester United's best right now," Carragher replied. "I'm not lying, I think they are!"
In response to a post including that video, Carragher posted a GIF of David Brent, the Ricky Gervais character from The Office, looking to the camera.
Manchester United looks set to sign the Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, while it has kept hold of Bruno Fernandes.
But the Old Trafford side will play many more matches this season and will not have the luxury of playing only one game per week. Its defense looked shaky on the opening weekend.

Liverpool kicks off its season with a trip to Newcastle tomorrow. It then hosts Nottingham Forest at Anfield next weekend, with each of its first six games coming against teams that also changed their manager this summer.
Liverpool.com says: There is obviously work for the Reds to do before the transfer deadline, but Neville's overconfidence on Manchester United is no surprise.
While Liverpool had everything go wrong that could have last season, Manchester United was the opposite. Even so, there were only two places between them in the final standings.
