Liverpool targets Bradley Barcola (23) and Ibrahim Mbaye (18) are not expected to make PSG’s matchday squad for their Ligue 1 opener against Rennes, according to Onze Mondial. The pair also sat out last week’s Trophée des Champions against RC Lens. Both Barcola and Mbaye are expected to leave Les Parisiens in the final days of this summer transfer window. The France international is Liverpool’s priority target to reinforce up front with talks reportedly making slow progress with the back-to-back UEFA Champions League winners.
Both Barcola and Mbaye took part in PSG’s training session on Saturday, but they won’t make Sunday’s trip to Brittany. PSG were initially poised to host Rennes at Parc des Princes, but the ground’s pitch has been hit with a fungal infection. The game will therefore be played at Roazhon Park. However, it remains to be seen whether PSG will host the return leg as Ligue 1.
